California Endangered Species Act, (CESA) Section 2081 Incidental Take Permit (ITP)

Required for the incidental take of species listed as threatened and endangered under CESA.

  1. Identify proposed project/proposed action

  2. Initiate informal coordination with California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW)

  3. Draft Incidental Take Permit (ITP) application(Develop measures that fully mitigate impacts of take of CESA listed species.)

  1. Submit ITP application

  2. Lead Agency certifies Environmental Impact Report

  3. CDFW issues ITP
