Delta Conveyance Project Checks Off Another Important Milestone

February 14, 2025

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has issued an Incidental Take Permit (ITP) under Section 2081 of the California Endangered Species Act (CESA) for the Delta Conveyance Project. Completion of this permit is an important milestone in the planning process, advancing this critical project closer to implementation.

Notice of Public Hearing Regarding the Delta Conveyance Project Change in Point of Diversion Petition

July 31, 2024

The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) has issued a notice of public hearing regarding the Delta Conveyance Project. The public hearing is set to begin on January 16, 2025, and will address the water right change petitions filed by the Department of Water Resources to add two new points of diversion and rediversion to the water rights associated with the State Water Project.

Incidental Take Permit Application

April 19, 2024

DWR applied to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) for an Incidental Take Permit (ITP) under Section 2081 of the California Endangered Species Act (CESA) on April 9, 2024. As CDFW reviews the information in the ITP application, it is expected that DWR will add supplemental materials to update the administrative record and will post periodic updates to the ITP application to reflect this supplemental material. The application is a document to initiate formal consultation under CESA, which does not incorporate a public review component.
